Watch: Ne-Yo Breaks Down While Performing ‘Hard to Say Goodbye’ At George Floyd Memorial

Published: Wednesday 10th Jun 2020 by Rashad

On June 9, celebrities, statesmen, and more gathered at Houston’s Fountain of Praise to bid farewell to George Floyd – the unarmed Minneapolis Black man whose death at the hands of local police sparked global outrage that’s led to protests for criminal justice reform.

Among those in attendance included Rev. Al Sharpton, Ne-Yo, Jamie Foxx, Slim Thug, and Ne-Yo.

The latter took to the stage to not only offer his condolences to the Floyd family, but also performed a spirited acapella rendition of Boyz II Men‘s ‘It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday.’

I just find it funny how this guy is getting so much attention, having singers sing at his memorial, talk about him, and the only reason being , cause he got killed by a cop. If he got killed by anyone else, we’d hear nothing about him. Seems his death only matters, cause of the cop that killed him.

And that’s precisely the point. The attention is because racism was invented by white people and a racist white cop killed an unarmed Black man. If you still can’t comprehend why that is wrong you are as bad as the cop who killed him. Ignorance is not an excuse. Educate yourself.

        Thank you!

Yes it’s wrong but murder is still murder whoever kills you. The end result is the same.. Don’t you get that?

      • Martaevia La’Wayne June 11, 2020

But yet it’s only the black race that’s continuously treated like s***. The black race, the only race cops and others have been killing for years like we’re less than. We are the only ones. It’s obvious you don’t get that. Do some research before speaking ok thing you clearly don’t understand. All lives matter but it’s Black lives that are being treated like a video game and it’s not right.

Yes I understand that USA police treat black people differently, but people wouldn’t be mad at his murder if say the boyfriend of the pregnant women that he put a gun to when was robbing her house a few years back had got reverge and killed him.
Or if the guy was gay, cause black people especially black males are very homophoic, they wouldn’t be seen protesting over a gay man. People can’t pick and chose what forms of discrimination are acceptable.

Stfu dumb ass. Police are supposed to PROTECT and SERVE, not TERRORIZE and KILL. We want justice and accountability …. and to be perfectly honest, the movement is no longer strictly about George Floyd! It’s about the injustices that we as Black people face in America everyday. Why the f*** are you mad?

      • Yo June 11, 2020

I’m not the one swearing, am just making points. You seem mad that I dare make them. Do you know what freedom of speech is?

Neyo is still obsessed with trying desperately to be like Usher SMDH. Dude was literally fake breaking down trying to create a classic moment like Usher genuinely did when he sang the same exact song for Aaliyah and when he broke down at the end of singing at Michael Jackson Memorial.
