Sam Smith Announces New Single ‘My Oasis’ With Burna Boy

Published: Wednesday 29th Jul 2020 by Rashad

To say Sam Smith‘s third era has been a rollercoaster would be an understatement.

Despite kicking it off with one of 2019’s biggest songs, the Normani-assisted ‘Dancing with a Stranger,’ the GRAMMY-winner followed in 2020 with a string of moderately successful Hot 100 hits to precede the previously June 5-slated LP ‘To Die For’ – then  temporarily shelved it all together (as we reported here).

Now, it appears the 28-year-old is recharged and ready to serve hungry fans news on the revamped era.

Details inside:

Taking to Twitter on Wednesday (July 29), Smith announced new single ‘My Oasis’ – a new collaboration with Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy.

The track arrives tomorrow (July 30);

A super unique pairing! We’re buzzed! Are you?!

    All these singles and no album. A sloppy mess. This era started strong with DWAS, but has taken a nosedive with each subsequent release. I’m bored with Sam now

    Sam smith shelved the record because it was going to flop! This is like single number 6, Katy Perry smile era status and Meghan 🚂er Multi year tr(eat) yourself era. Smh streaming was supposed to help artists not make them struggle more!

    I wonder if Burna Boy would ever work with a Black Q**** person?

    Sam killed his career when he started doing the most. I’m all for experimenting in your artistry and branching out but don’t fix what isn’t broken. The world loved Sam the crooner. Not Sam the voguer or Sam the “they”. He’s a textbook example of “when doing too much goes wrong”. Bye Sammie you’re done hun.

    Floppin’ stopped his hip flappin’. Where’s the GaGa makeup and sheer mesh tops and manic pose-dancing? Told y’all money WILL talk and his pronouns WILL walk if his 6 “buzz” singles fail to hit big. Bring it down, birl.

    This is interesting. Isn’t Burna a huge homophobe. He’s just partnering with Sam for clout!
