Moments ago, the R&B legend announced brand new album ‘Spell My Name.’
The follow-up 2018’s ‘Sex & Cigarettes,‘ the set serves as Braxton’s 10th studio album.
And she’s it’s already reading like a winner on paper.
For, the project sees her team up with rising star H.E.R, as well as Missy Elliott.

‘Spell My Name’ – which is led by singles ‘Do It’ and ‘Dance’ – will arrive on August 28th via Island.

10 Songs…come on, Toni. Its like with S** & cigarettes, that was nice but way top short. I hate those 25 Minute albums. Give us at least 45 Minutes of music

But her material has always been so so to me, especially to deliver strong albums start to finish.

I love Toni but she seems stuck in her 90s retro zone. 9 tracks for an album???? They might able to get away with that in Vinyl era, but not today. Budget issue maybe???? Even brandy has 13 tracks on her budget Album????????
It’s a little shorter than I would like but my coins are ready! I love the singles thus far. The album cover is fire!
I would rather have a shorter new album every 2-3 years than a longer album every 8 years—just my opinion.
Exactly plus we all know 10 tracks versus 12 or more don’t matter for an older legacy artist like Toni. It’ll make very little impact/difference to her commercial sales
I’m surprised and I’m disappointed that she’s getting another short tracklist. It may as well be an EP, because these 9 tracks can’t be much longer 30 minutes total. It doesn’t even include her duet with Kem that came out this week. The 10th studio album from a legend deserves better!!
I know Tamar barely here, but when are we going to get a Toni and Tamar collaboration?
go listen to Toni’s old albums… Tamar sings background on most of the songs. Especially on the The Heat and More Than A Woman albums.
