Billboard is set to have some sweet news for ‘Watermelon Sugar’ singer Harry Styles.
Just a month after fans learned it had become his third solo top 10 placement on the Hot 100 (as we reported here), the Tyler Johnson-produced hit is now locked in a two-way race with DaBaby‘s enduring smash ‘Rockstar’ to be crowned the week’s chart champion.

Officially delivered May 15, ‘Sugar’ took 15 weeks to reach its current peak of #7 on the Hot 100 (as of time reported). However, thanks to a sales and radio airplay surge, industry analysts predict the song will dethrone the current chart champ – Taylor Swift‘s ‘Cardigan’ (which will reportedly make a historic drop from the tally’s perch as we reported here).
That win would come as Styles’ first solo #1 on the hitlist, unless – of course – DaBaby says otherwise.
The rapper’s Roddy Ricch-assisted hit, ‘Rockstar,’ had already enjoyed seven non-consecutive weeks atop the Hot 100 before Swift’s ‘Cardigan’ interrupted the reign. Now, with renewed interest in its parent album, ‘Blame It on Baby,’ thanks to its deluxe re-release (click here to stream), it’s believed the tune stands a good chance of rocketing back to #1.
