Justin Timberlake Says Working With Timbaland Was His “Prophecy”

Published: Tuesday 25th Aug 2020 by Ryan

Justin Timberlake and Timbaland have been cemented in Pop history.

Now the former is reflecting on working with the legendary producer in a new interview with Apple Music.

His words below:

“That was like a prophecy for me. You have to understand, like when I was 14 and we were just actually forming the group [*NSYNC], Supa Dupa Fly was the thing for me. And I said to my mother, ‘I will work with that man one day. I will work with him one day if it’s the last thing I do,’ And of course, I was 14, and just like… I probably could have said anything at that point and believed it…. We had met a little bit. He really liked ‘It’s Gonna Be Me,’ actually. And we met him outside a studio one time and I was kind of realizing that maybe it wasn’t going to be possible.”

Since the pair first teamed up, they have spawned several hits together, such as ‘SexyBack’ and ‘Mirrors.’ Additionally, Timbaland has appeared on every one of JT’s solo albums in the last two decades.

It would be really INTRIGUING for Justin to collaborate with a NEW never-heard-of producer on this next project. Justin needs to take a musical break from Timbaland & Pharrell. Sonically, his catalogue needs a bit of a shake up. I really hope whatever he releases in 2022 or 2023 elevated his legacy into a totally new stratosphere. ITS TIME FOR CHANGE!

Lol he nor his label is going to take a risk on an up and coming producer after that embarrassment of album Mountain man or whatever it was called.

This is his last chance. Two flop albums in a row and you lose your audience. People don’t have the attention spans they used to anymore and aren’t forgiving either

They cute, hopefully the next album will have some bops. Tim needs to get like Max Martin and other older producers and take some people in and co-produce with him to update his sound.

I BEEN trying to tell people that that’s exactly how Max keeps his mojo and stays at the top but they don’t hear me tho lol…Tim has worked with Storch (who’s off the blacklist), Danja, James, Tedder and many others of course, so he knows this….Max snatches co-producers, co-writers and anybody that can finesse and get out the best version of a song! He’s giving and generous chile lol…and yes, a genius (Tim too) 🤳🏽

Finally, some nice new nuggets of information I never knew! 🙂 It’s time for Max Martin and Timbaland to work TOGETHER in the same studio on a full Justin Timberlake album. They know so much about music that any sound direction they can truly master. 🙂
