JoJo is getting into the holiday spirit.
The singer is drawing inspiration from one of her idols, Mariah Carey, and announced on ‘Betches’ that she will be releasing a new Christmas album this year that will include new holiday material as well as covers.
Her words below:
“In the spirit of Mariah Carey. She has certainly inspired me in many ways and one of the ways is that I wanted to write some original Christmas music.”
She goes on to say:
“Half of this album is original and the other half are classics. The album is called ‘December Baby’ because I’m a December baby. I am so proud of this project. It’s what Christmas feels like and sounds like to me.”
Earlier this year, the ‘Think About You’ singer released fourth studio album, ‘Good To Know’ to critical acclaim.
Now she intends to make the holidays a bit more festive.

There’s something she’s not willing to do in the industry to get to the next level. She’s so talented I love her 1st album. She’s a recipe for success idk what went wrong smh
It’s easy for me to relate to her because I’m a fan from the beginning, but the general public is not gravitating toward her, which is why I think image is more important than some people realize. JoJo switches things up a lot and that’s okay for you and me, but that lack of consistency doesn’t give new people a chance to know her, identify with her, and have time to grow with her. Sorry to say it, but her image was a lot more effective under the control of Blackground, but only because it was steady and consistent. She just needs to apply those same principles and I’ll bet anything she’ll see an increase in sales and popularity.
Agreed. Her urban persona isn’t clicking. She’d get a warmer and more loyal reception if she goes country or (Christian) Adult Contemporary.
