‘Can’t Stop The Feeling’ was the song the world couldn’t escape. But, as it turns out, one person who wishes they could is none other than the man who sings it – Justin Timberlake.

JT sat down with Zane Lowe recently to discuss his biggest hits on Apple Music‘s Essentials.
When the 2016 chart-topping ‘Trolls’ soundtrack single was brought up, he offered a surprising response. One that saw him distance his artistry away from the song.
Speaking about ‘Can’t Stop The Feeling,’ he explained:
“This song trips me out. It is not something I would have ever written for myself. Again, this is a song I don’t feel is mine. Honestly. Because we wrote it for this movie. It just turns out that they said “no, you have to sing it [too]. And I was like ‘ok.”
Timberlake isn’t the first nor will he be the last to open up about having an aversion to some of his own cornerstone hits.
His words are drenched in a coating of irony, though. Because ‘Can’t Stop The Feeling’ is his last “hit-hit” to date.
2018’s ‘Man of the Woods’ album yielded two #9 charting singles in ‘Filthy’ and ‘Say Something,’ but struggled to move the needle much beyond that.
As reported, he’s working on new music with both Timabland and Pharrell Williams. So, he’ll no doubt be hoping his incoming material sets the charts ablaze.

What I wrote: These comments are taking this way too seriously (as usual). JT was only being completely open and honest. He co-wrote the song for the MOVIE (a children’s movie at that!) and I guess he didn’t imagine his character (in the movie) would be the one that was going to sing it until the movie studio (or screenwriters) decided his character would be lead on it. He didn’t distance himself from the song like the title says AT ALL. He only said he wouldn’t write a song like that for HIMSELF (for a studio album). He obviously likes the song as he co-wrote it…lol.
Now I wonder what they would say if he said, “it’s my career best and most favorite song of all-time”….we all know what they would say. HATERS!

I am sorry justin This is so amazing , when my daughter is down and uninspired we play this song, and gives her that will to keep going. We are homeless and have been for a year. I just played it for her, and it brought her spirit back to not give up. This song is so you. Nobody else could sing it like you. You give people that good feeling Dont say you shouldn’t have sang this song. It is so you with your personality. She saw you when she was 10 with n’sync and then with Christina. My daughter loves your music. Living in a car and hearing that song just makes us want to get up dance. Eventhough we cant dance. I am saying thank you for this song .

Is there something wrong with the OP being honest and giving context? Also if y’all (whatever country it is you’re from) have homeless people and they aren’t letting people know theyre homeless how will someone know to give them the help they do obviously need? Or maybe your country has no homelessness issue, in which case come up off of some of that bread or tell us what country you’re in so we can try to get in and get one of those houses/flats/apartments/cottages/government provided housing that you’re over there enjoying.
Jt and Christina concerts were in 2002. If she was 10 then. Why is your 28 yr old daughter still living with you while you’re homeless?
