The Songbird Supreme took to Twitter today to reveal that her latest endeavor, a memoir entitled ‘The Meaning of Mariah Carey,’ has topped The New York Times Bestsellers list.

Wow. Stunned, humbled & grateful. Writing this memoir nearly consumed my life for the last three years.U MAD.
to everyone who has taken the time to read my story & make this dream a reality. It almost makes it tolerable to have lived through these experiences! LOL
‘The Meaning of Mariah Carey’ is an unfiltered look at the superstar’s life, including: her childhood, rise to fame, infamous ‘Glitter’-era, and beyond.

I’ve just started the part about the Glitter era.
I’m enjoying the book. Let’s just said she could have been more THERE but I’m glad she didn’t go down that road.
It’s very easy to do something classless and drop names endlessly just for attention. She’s better than that.
I haven’t read spoilers and all that. So let’s see if she’s being open about that part of her career starting from Glitter.
Mariah is amazing, she was a little over the top with the race stuff but the book is captivating because, SHE is MARIAH! She sings throughout the audiobook, I would get it in that format, she does a lot of ad-libs singing and great impressions, who knew. She has a few cheezy sections about her childhood but when she gets into her career , the book takes flight.

do you spend tha tsame energy when people brag about having a “#1” album, and only having sold 3,000 compies…. no matter what the total was, it outsold everything else….and 500,000 copies of A BOOK seems to me like a decent number, considering that no one really is into buying books anymore

I like Mimi, but her Céline dig was classless. Why mention an insignificant night from her biz life in a memoir? We all know, that night, her vocal cords were a gravel zipper being fried. Calling Céline’s riff-off with Aretha a “culture gap” made her sound bitter for watching her label mate finger-eff her Mrs. Head of Sony 90’s chart dominance (when Whitney wasn’t scalping her wigless with film AND album joint successes, that is!) She knew better than to diss Nippy, so she bullied Céline and her notorious ignore-it-and-it-dies-down attitude. As for Patti LaWail condoning her god daughter’s remark: forgive me, Aretha, for I had misjudged your judgment; you, Queen of Soul, were right to relegate the multi-hundred pumpkin pie seller to coat hanger at The White House where you were on stage delighting the Obama’s and she a mere door greeter. Oh but then, Patti never forgave Céline for taking her flop song, If You Asked Me To, to the Top 5—a feat Patti blamed on racism. Gurl plz. You been playing with your She by Sherée nose at the surgeons as many tines as Sherée’s husband’s fist played with her jugular. #AndIAmThrough

Its an amazing book but there is a part two that needs to come out. This was heavily centered around identity more so that career.
