Predictions Are In: 21 Savage Set To Beat BLACKPINK, Bryson Tiller, & Mariah Carey To #1

Published: Tuesday 6th Oct 2020 by Rashad

BLACKPINK may be watching their Korean-English debut LP, ‘The Album,’ open to historic numbers on a global scale, but in America the K-Pop foursome are seeing the set’s premiere week figures trail behind one of Hip Hop’s most long-awaited releases:  21 Savage & Metro Boomin‘s ‘Savage Mode 2.’

The GRAMMY-winning rapper stunned fans last Monday (September 28) when he confirmed the long-awaited arrival of the sequel to his breakout album, 2016’s ‘Savage Mode.’

Boasting appearances from the likes of Drake, Young Thug, and more, industry analysts are predicting the project will not only generate enough steam to power past the slew of efforts released October 2 (as reported here) but will do so with some of the genre’s highest numbers of the year.

See what we mean inside:

Among new studio releases (October 2), 21 Savage, YG, Bryson Tiller, Mariah Carey, and BLACKPINK were expected to be the top contenders for next week’s Billboard 200 throne.

If industry analysts prediction proves correct, Savage is poised to take the crown by a considerable margin.

Well, Mariah’s album features actual music. As for the rest of them all, I don’t know. But congratulations to them.

      • Bam October 7, 2020

Not really her sales aren’t that far off from the Savages sales. Her fans are older they ain’t got time for streaming all day they at work.

I’m confused, in total – Blackpink have the highest sales figure?

  4. Zion October 7, 2020

Pure album sales should carry more weight

  5. MessyBoots October 7, 2020

If streaming didnt exist none of these rap albums would be topping the Top 200 or Hot 100 like this.

The pure sales are always abysmal compared to streaming. I will never understand how Billboard justified giving streaming more point value than pure sales.

That is when I stopped giving value to these stats after DECADES of being a loyal chart observer.

    Today’s charts are a fraud. 🧐🤷🏾‍♂️

Totally agree. Bilboard’s credibility died years ago once they caved in to this streaming bullsh!t.

    • Theman October 7, 2020

Exactly, they’re flops without the streams.

21 Savage’s album is narrated by MORGAN FREEMAN. And that s*** knocks, too bad most of the people on this site are dated af.

Also congrats to BLACKPINK and I love them and all but that album was TRASH.😪 🤮

Sad to see how horribly Mariah flopped.

    • Bam October 7, 2020

I mean she SOLD 5,000 less than Savage. Did she really flop? She ain’t really of this generation so I wouldn’t expect high streaming numbers especially for songs that are old but previously unreleased.

    • Gworl Bye October 7, 2020

21 savage is TRASH, i don’t care if God himself narrated that crap. And 20k pure sales is nothing to brag about.

    • Theman October 7, 2020

Her pure sales are higher than many of these artists. Two, these aren’t huge radio/playlists hits. This is a compilation. So this isn’t a flop. Her compilation has sold more than a lot of new artists actual albums. Streaming is what’s helping these flop artists.

  7. Your Name October 7, 2020

Y’all make fun of older artists when they’re selling around the same amount or more than these so called popular acts! 5K pure sales and 65K streaming!!! Really! Streaming ruined the industry.

  8. Urg October 7, 2020

When will Bliiboard do away with that boundling rule? Or does it only apply to certain “artist”

  9. STAYFRESH October 7, 2020

WE NEED A FULL NEW STUDIO ALBUM FROM MARIAH ASAP. I DEFINITELY FEEL LIKE SHE IS ONE ARTIST THAT SHOULDNT STOP MAKING ORIGINAL CONTENT AS LONG AS SHE IS ALIVE AND ABLE. HER SONGS ARE TIMELESS AND CLASSIC <3

  10. PinotNoir October 7, 2020

    WHO streams this DRAGON 💩?
Mumbling “půssy” gets you a #1?

Mimi’s Fame cover’s outta dis 🌎 But she must stop saying 🐑s are the best; they been burying her in debt since Emancipation.

I’ll stick to my 90’s jams, thanks.

When you stream, you don’t own. It’s not part of your owned collection of music.

    You are renting it.

Most rap is DISPOSABLE. No one cares about it a year later.
