Few acts have galvanised the Pop culture landscape quite like Ariana Grande.
Since strutting onto the scene, the songbird has seen her star soar to higher heights and her command over the charts intensify with each release.
Her latest effort ‘Positions’ arrived this week with tall expectations.
Grande’s sixth studio LP follows last year’s blockbuster ‘Thank U, Next’ and is led by its title track – which looks poised to premiere atop of the singles tally.
Will the album follow suit? The first week predictions are in and bring with it the answer.

‘Position’ is positioned to be become Grande’s fifth chart-topper on the Billboard 200 and is tracking towards becoming her second highest opening.
The LP’s projected start is bested only by ‘Thank U, Next,’ which launched with 360,000 in February 2019.
In the current sales climate, the numbers are undoubtedly strong and speak to the consistency of Grande’s commercial clout.
That said, it could also be argued that at this stage of her career, her numbers should – in theory – reflect an upward trend. Which isn’t the case when comparing to ‘Thank U, Next.’
But, as the age old adage goes: “it’s not how you start, but how you finish.”
As such, it’ll be interesting to see how the campaign plays out in the longterm.
