Nearly 20 years after the release of her debut single, Jhené Aiko – the self-proclaimed ‘P*$$Y Fairy’ – is being granted long overdue industry acclaim.
After ending 2020 as the year’s best-selling female R&B release, ongoing success at the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) suggests Aiko’s third album – ‘Chilombo’ – is set to keep the wins rolling in 2021.

The GRAMMY-nominated effort, set to compete for Album of the Year honors at the 2021 ceremony (as we reported here), was among the latest projects with updated RIAA stats on Monday (January 11). Now at Platinum status (a measure that denotes sales of 1 million copies in the United States), the achievement comes as a career first for Aiko.
The certification upgrade of ‘Chilombo’ was aided by its slew of singles – five of which earned RIAA certifications as well. Over the last month, the Big Sean-assisted ‘None of Your Concern’ (seen above) was gifted a Platinum plaque and marked the fourth single of the era to gain such.
Previously awarded songs include ‘Triggered (Freestyle)’ (Platinum), ‘P*ssy Fairy (OTW)’ (Platinum), ‘Happiness Over Everything (H.O.E.)’ (Gold), and ‘B.S.’ (Platinum).
As of time reported, the ‘Chilombo’ era is the most certified of Jhené’s career.
