It’s been six months since Janelle Monae treated fans to their first listen of her song, ‘Turntables.’
Prominently featured on the 2020 Stacey Abrams‘ documentary, “All In: The Fight For Democracy,” the critically acclaimed tune is at the center of Oscar buzz as it’s one of 15 songs shortlisted for the Best Original Song category at this year’s Academy Awards.
And though Monae’s kept the focus on her acting career for most of the past year, she’s setting out to prove she can still rock a stage as evidenced by her appearance on ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’ Tuesday night (March 10).
Look inside to see Janelle crank out her second live performance of the politically charged cut in just the last month alone.
Ahead of her rocking appearance on ‘Colbert,’ Janelle hit up Amazon Prime Video. See that performance below:
😂🤣😂 her new Hairdo reminds me of Keri Hilson. She can be her dwarf version 💅🏿💅🏿 meanwhile her lead debut antebellum bomb the box office. Y’all just let the movie flopped. IMO it’s pretty good and I laughed so hard & enjoyed it very much 🤳🏿🤳🏿🤳🏿
This would make a great spoken word piece. It doesn’t work as a song.
