Lil Nas X has emerged as quite the Pop polarizer.
For while some have hailed his unfiltered brand of expression, others have slammed it in earnest.
One person who is Team Montero, though, is none other than Nelly.
Speaking at the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards, he showered the 22-year-old with praise – both in an interview and directly when their paths crossed backstage.
Nelly’s words below…
Revealing that he was meant to release a remix of Nas’ song ‘Rodeo,’ he went on to say:
“The thing I love about Lil Nas X is the “F U” factor. Listen, it’s so hard in this business to do you. Because from all angles you get people trying to pull you and tell you how you should do you. The fact he does him and does it unapologetically. Regardless of whether I agree with what he does or not. I’m not here to agree with him. I’m here to appreciate his authenticity. That’s what I love about him. That’s my little brother and I said it. That’s my cat.”
Watch as Nelly salutes Nas backstage:
It was Nelly saying “Look at my king” for me https://t.co/mVmt0tvmmD

We love to see it!
He wants to smash.
I can believe this
F*** think everything is gay. That’s why straight men kill yall.
Welcome to da family, son💆🏿♂️🖕🏿🧔🏿 Toss that fresh juicy black meat chicken salad, daddy, oops I mean Nelly 🤣😂🤣😂 keep kissing that assssssss
Lil nas x is Michael Jackson of this generation.
Uh uh…go play in traffic…no you didn’t.
I think he’s maybe more of the new Milli Vanilli of his generation.
Sure. I’ll go play in your mom’s house and she is blowing my d*** while she is breastfeeding you.
Ok awesome! That works out better for me and the rest of society tbh. Because I’d rather that than you being somewhere amongst this world giving useless and unearthed opinions. Tell my mom I said hey girl! 😉😚
Alright thot, let’s have a 3some, gimme that ass
Black men supporting each other
Amazing!!!
Nelly old ass is still FINE. I agree with him.. I don’t offer my opinions on certain topics bcuz it’s no ones business BUT I will support my fellow black man if what he’s doing isn’t dangerous to himself or others.
Lil Nas X is smart and will be successful in his own right.
tell your lil bro he’s doing too much too early.
gimmicks have never worked for anyone in the long run. Its been two minutes and im already tired of him.
Im not against him being black and unapologetically gay. But the gimmicks>>>> his music.
like I said, too much too soon. its like he knows his career wont be that long and he’s throwing everything but the kitchen sink to make a statement within a short space of time.
some people dont believe he’s actually gay. people generally dont understand homosexuality that well. he was introduced as the guy that sang Old Town Road and Panini, and within a very short space of time, he is now twerking and doing all this q**** stuff. to the gp its not adding up.
but then he is 21and naive. he’s from a generation thats seriously lacking in vision.
All of this!! Say that s***! And I hollered at everything but the kitchen sink part 😂
No LIES TOLD!!!
Authenticity??
Yet “Sun Goes Down” didn’t even chart this week
Catch that TGJ
And Nelly can still get it 20 years later
“SUN GOES DOWN” didn’t even place in the Hot 100 this week. FLOP
Also Nelly can still get it 20 years later.
Im Fancy Bish and I can’t wait for Lil Nas to pick me as his power bottom so he can be my future baby daddy.
You wish.
I do, that’s why I said it.
