The MTV Video Music Awards is back and bringing a live audience with it.

Organizers for the 2021 VMAs have confirmed that the show will take place live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on September 12. 

And like fellow ViacomCBS show, the BET Awards, the broadcast will mark the return of a live audience format.

MTV and Barclays Center are working closely with state and local officials to implement and ensure best practices so as to safely reunite artists and audiences.

As with many ceremonies, last year saw the VMAs pivot to a virtual format in light of the global health crisis. 

Now, it’s lights, camera, action…and applause for one of music’s most notable nights.
