It’s finally here!
After ample teasing this week, super-producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis have shared their Mariah Carey collaboration: ‘Somewhat Loved (Don’t Go Breakin’ My Heart).’
Across the hip-hop-infused track, Carey sings:
“The more I thought about you (the more I thought) / The less I thought about me / And I lost myself in this dream / Somewhat loved (only somewhat)“
Previously, Carey had worked with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis on the songs ‘Never Too Far,’ ‘Bliss,’ and ‘Thank God I Found You.’
Listen to ‘Somewhat Loved’ below…
Yes! This is a smash! Can’t wait for the album 🙂
Jimmy jam and terry lewis are legends I hope they did more songs like this for mariahs new album
Flop
Like that maroon 5 meg song you said would be a smash huh
🤣🤣🤣
It sounds new n vintage all at the same time. The stacks on the bridge are 🔥
Rumor has it that the Janet song will not be on Vol1. I guess we should enjoy this one, Toni B. and Mary J…
Ok, if I be honest… it’s underwhelming. This is not what I expect from Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. Flyte Tyme has ALWAYS had a distinct Minneapolis sound. This song is just average to me. I am a HUGE Jam and Lewis fan, and this frustrates the hell out of me.
The soft intro made me think of vintage 90s Mariah. After listening to the whole song, I wish they had fashioned it entirely after the intro. As it is, I like the vocals and the piano. I think the clap track could be different; Mariah seems to favor that particular one.
Sis- this ain’t it. Sounds like mix between mc mixed with a Janet first verse
❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤🤍♥️💘💝💖💗💓💕❣️💌
Sounds boring.
Why is Mariah singing like Janet on the verses? Very strange. I don’t think I’m feeling this
Love it
Her vocals are just not Hittin’ on this.
