In a mere three days, ‘Evermore’ has broken the record for the biggest sales week for a vinyl album in the U.S. since MRC Data began tracking sales in 1991.
The vinyl edition of Swift’s ninth studio album was released on May 28 and sold over 40,000 copies in the U.S. through May 30, according to Billboard.
The previous record holder was rocker Jack White with his album, ‘Lazaretto.’
Additionally, ‘Evermore’ is on pace to set to break its own record as it is on course to sell 80-100k vinyl albums.
This large sales boost is set to propel the album to #2 on the Billboard 200 next week. It previously peaked at #1, where it stayed for three weeks.
Needless to say, a huge congratulations is in order.
