Once hailed as the preeminent performer of her generation, Britney Spears is no stranger to deafening calls from fans to return to stage to remind music lovers of why she was exalted as such.
But, if a recent video uploaded to the 39-year-old’s official Instagram is any indication, she has other plans.
The ‘I’ve Just Begun (Having My Fun)’ singer is living up to the song’s title, as she took to IG to confirm Thursday (June 17).
Taking to the platform to answer “fan questions” from her beloved Britney Army, the Pop princess spoke candidly about her desire – or lack thereof – to return to stage performing.
“Am I going to take the stage? Will I ever take the stage again?” she asked, before answering, “I have no idea. I’m having fun right now. I’m in a transition in my life and I’m enjoying myself, so that’s it.”
The statement comes just over a year after Spears’ son, Jayden Federline, sent her fans into a frenzy with reports she “may quit music forever” (as we reported here) – the exact opposite of what Britney herself reported the year prior.
And while she did not elaborate further, many speculate the ‘transition’ referred to could be the result of the forthcoming hearing in her conservatorship case.
Scheduled for June 23, the court appearance will mark the first time the Pop diva will speak on her own behalf since she officially moved to remove her father, Jamie Spears, as conservator.
