Britney Spears’ bid to end the conservatorship that has governed her life for 13 years was given a boost at a court hearing moments ago.

In the weeks following the bombshell testimony she gave at the June 23 court date, the Pop star’s court-appointed attorney Sam Ingham resigned.
His stepping down aligns with Spears wish to hire her own attorney.
High-powered legal honcho Matthew Rosengart has been unveiled as the singer’s pick and he attended today’s hearing in Los Angeles to put forth a pitch to Judge Brenda Penny as to why Spears was entitled to pick her own representation.
The request was granted and former prosecutor Rosengart made clear his intention to file the necessary paperwork to formally initiate the end of the conservatorship within the coming weeks.
It’s important to stress that there will likely be resistance from the other entities, but it’s a major step.
Spears spoke at the hearing and made clear that “I’m here to get rid” of her estranged father and co-conservator Jamie Spears. She also told the judge, she wants to “charge him with conservatorship abuse.”
