After years of unavailability on streaming platforms, the LP was finally released on services such as Spotify and Apple Music after the relaunch of the late star’s longtime label, Blackground Records.
The buzz was immediate and resulted in plentiful streams and digital downloads.
It’s resulted in the 1996 LP rocketing into the top 10 of the Billboard 200 for the first time ever.
Fueled by equivalent sales of 26,000, the project has landed at #10 on the tally.
Of that sum: 13,000 are pure sales, while 11,000 are via streaming (by way of the 14.29 million on-demand streams of the set’s songs). 2000 were via track equivalent albums units.
Prior to this point, ‘One in a Million – which is home to hits such as ‘Hot Like Fire,’ ‘4 Page Letter,’ and the ‘One in a Million’ title-track, had peaked at #18 on the coveted count.
As reported, the rest of Aaliyah’s catalog is heading to streaming services as part of a staggered release roll-out.
