August 9 brought with it the 15th anniversary of Christina Aguilera‘s third studio album, the critically-acclaimed ‘Back to Basics.’
Lauded as a masterful, modern homage to music’s big band/jazz era of the ’30s, ’40s, and ’50s, the project solidified Xtina’s role as her generation’s top sonic chameleon – daringness rewarded with her highest first-week sales to date.
Now, as fans – affectionately called #Fighters – prepare for the diva’s long-awaited new album, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has gone to press to reveal said fans haven’t exactly slowed on spinning her golden jams of yesterday.
