Report: 21 Savage Released on Bond After Turning Self In For Drug & Weapon Charges Stemming from 2019 ICE Arrest

Published: Friday 24th Sep 2021 by Rashad

‘Runnin’ hitmaker 21 Savage quietly ran to an Atlanta area Sheriff’s Office earlier this week to turn himself in on drug and weapon possession charges stemming from his highly publicized 2019 arrest.

Details inside.

Our friends at Buzzfeed News first broke the story, which was based on a DeKalb County Jail record listing Savage (born Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph) as booked at 7:48 p.m. EST on Wednesday night (September 22) for possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of a gun.  He was released on bond just 12 minutes later.

The charges stem from early 2019, around the time the rapper was taken into custody by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials for reportedly being an “unlawfully present United Kingdom national” who overstayed his nonimmigrant visa after it expired in 2006.

According to BuzzFeed News, the warrant that 21 Savage turned himself in for this week alleges the star “threw out a bottle that had liquid in it that later tested positive for codeine, and that a handgun was found inside the car” on the night of the 2019 ICE arrest.

Speaking on the legal drama, Joseph’s rep – attorney Charles H. Kuck – said:

“We are grateful for the efforts of the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office for quickly processing and releasing Mr. Joseph. He will continue to fight for his right to seek permanent residence in the United States through the immigration court. We look forward to the day when ICE will play fairly with all those who seek justice within our immigration system.

Mr. Joseph is a good man. A man who takes care of his family and his community, and a man who sets an example for those around him that it is possible to achieve success even when you start with less than nothing.”

As of time reported, Savage has not issued a public statement regarding the hoopla.

And how’s that? By using drugs and guns?! It would be laughable if it wasn’t so f****** disgusting and serious!
