Chloe Bailey has hit back at those claiming she’s doing the most with her performances, specifically her latest offering on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.’

As reported, the rising solo star blazed the stage with a unique performance of her hit single ‘Have Mercy,’ which fused various elements – from the vocal to the electronic.
And while some drew to the range of skills on show, others took to social media to claim the 23-year-old is doing “too much”.
Minutes ago, Bailey weighed-in and made clear that “much” is what she’ll be serving regardless.

People aren’t hating on Chloe because she is a light skin woman. That is bull! I am much lighter than Chloe who is not even really light skin, but be honest. Lightskin black people aren’t suffering to the same extent as darker skinned people. Lightskin women always get preferential treatment over dark-skinned women like Normani. And she’s gotten similar criticism several times.

I think she should be more conscious of the criticism she receives. You don’t have to clap back at every “bad” review you receive. I don’t think enough celebrities actually evaluate the criticism. Their ego is just too big. And she’s said herself she wants all the accolades, all the awards, and so on. If that’s the case, do your thing, but don’t ignore the feedback you receive. People don’t dislike her, they’re just turned off by certain aspects of her showmanship. I’m not saying she should do anything differently, but I think she should think about it. This was a very Saweetie response where people criticized her for sampling and she was like “Well i’m good at it 💅🏾“ Like sis… no you’re not, that’s what they’re trying to tell you, and it’s gonna hold you back.
I just feel like either you like her or you don’t but doing too much sounds lame as hell. Like what’s doing too much and why not criticize the artist that DONT DO ENOUGH!!!! When people say she’s “doing too much”, they’re saying she’s trying too hard, which means that she’s coming across as inauthentic. People can pick up on that and they can tell when you’re trying to be something that doesn’t come natural to you. It’s not effortless. I don’t mind at all that she emulates Beyoncé, that’s her mentor, that’s who she wants to be like, but sometimes it’s so “Beyoncé” that she looks like she’s doing a Rupaul level lip-syncing impersonation and it doesn’t translate well. I’m sure that’s not her intention, but that’s what she’s giving to quite a few people. It’s dumb that you think other singers being less talented means no one can criticize Chloe. This is how people feel and this article isn’t about anyone else. I think Chloe has the potential to be exceptional and achieve all that she says she wants, but she has some kinks to iron out and she still needs to define herself as an individual and an artist. Being a good singer and a good dancer doesn’t make you a good performer or a good artist for that matter. The irony is that if anyone is praising the bare minimum here it’s you.

Here you go. She needs to stop with the Beyonce cut and paste singing and choreography. She needs to lean in more on the fact that she is a producer like she did at Jimmy Kimmel. All the crotch grabbing and booty shaking is very pedestrian. She is very talented. I like her better with her sister. I think Halle helps her artistry IMO.

I’m sure the comments and people regarding her debut as unnecessary and being too much is making her feel some kind of way though. I mean, she did say she is the more sensitive one between her sister and her.
My opinion on her and all these other new chicks (Normani, Jesy N) trying to break out of their groups and be like or replicate Beyoncé is the fact that when Beyoncé came out, she gave a little bit of a tease of what was left to come. With each album she progressed and grew from visuals, to her subject matters in her songs, to her sound. NONE of these new girls are matching that or even coming close. I just see a bunch of carbon copies using social media for hype and they are believing it but yet none of that is helping translate to sells or high charting songs…it’s damaging them in the long run. REAL music lovers/people can tell and feel when sh*t is real and fake, when things are genuine and when it’s fake and for all 3 of them, I get fake and trying to create shock value to keep tongues wagging but they aren’t wagging the way they should sadly and that’s due to the majority being fed up or bored of this new “talent” that rehashes old ideas and tries to force feed it down our throats. I still say it was too early for Chloe to go solo and I’m scared that this solo venture will flop for her and then Halle will be the one to take the spotlight because lately I have actually been seeing a lot of people on YouTube and other blogs saying they are looking forward to her music more surprisingly.
I like that she was showcasing her talent but if you had never heard to the song before you would be left very confused. The arrangement didn’t land. There wasn’t an organic crescendo. The opening sounded goofy too. The lyrics are to dumb to try to make it sound elegant. She has to distract from the fact that she looks like Jarjar Binks and she knows she’s the ugly sister.

She’s not appealing to the right demographic. Maybe if her music was more original, more up-to-date and less like something we were just bopping to a few years ago this transition would be easier to accept. I don’t think the public is looking for a newer younger Beyonce. The demographic that kept Bey relevant has gotten older is no longer the pop star consumer. If she wants stardom & fame she needs to focus on what the current 13 to 26 year old crowd is into. Right now, they consider the Beyonce style and sound “old school”, which is why Bey hasn’t been doing numbers like she ised to. I think she’s gonna flop.
Chloe is one of the more talented of the newer batch of R&B girls. Doing too much is always a good thing, HOWEVER her Fallon performance was one big conundrum of wtf.
