Ne-Yo saluted the sweet sounds of Motown with a unique rendition of the US National Anthem in the famed label’s hometown of Detroit.

The GRAMMY Award-winning crooner was on hand at the NFL Thanksgiving game between the Detroit Lions and the Dallas Cowboys.

Taking a center stage, Mr. Smith delivered a soulful take on ‘The Star-Spangled Banner.’

Taking on the National Anthem can be quite an intimidating feat, especially when opting for a different approach.

For Ne-Yo, however, the risk paid off. Solid performance.

I like Ne-Yo, but not this rendition. He sang it 10x better for Game 4 of the NBA Finals two years ago. It was excellent.
