Ed Sheeran Thought He Was Gay Growing Up

Published: Monday 1st Nov 2021 by Ryan

Ed Sheeran is getting candid.

The ‘Shivers’ hitmaker is now revealing why he thought was gay growing up.

Full story below…

Speaking to the Dutch podcast ‘Man Man Man,’ Sheeran explained that he’d never felt “hugely masculine,” and wasn’t into stereotypically masculine things like cars.

“I have a definite feminine side, to the point that when I was a kid I thought I was gay for a bit.”

“I definitely have a big feminine side. I love musical theatre, I love pop music, I love Britney Spears. My masculine side probably stops at drinking beer and watching football.”

“I am not a car guy. I like a nice car, but I’m not a car guy.”

Recently Sheeran released his ‘= (Equals)’ album to acclaim and success. His most recent single – ‘Overpass Graffiti’ – is currently pacing for a #1 debut in the UK.

This is such an ignorant/ out of touch comment.

Because you like stereotypical “feminine” things you thought you were gay?!?

Sorry to surprise you but the only thing that should be a sign is likely the same sèx.

Straight white people are always trying to find a way to have a struggle

Bye h o e, talk to lil nas x about that💅🏿 You just hating on white men for no reason

Why would anyone WANT to have a struggle? And if they DID want one, it’s clearly a sign of poor mental health, hence, they do have a struggle.

I agree… I don’t understand people who have never been oppressed want to feel like they have been oppressed…

      He is reinforcing the stereotypes

I also don’t understand that. People that want to feel oppressed when it was their ancestors who were oppressed. It’s disrespectful af to them.

If u dumbasses really knew wtf u were talking, the whole reason why he THOUGHT he was gay was because of the STEREOTYPES, but he’s NOT gay. That was the whole point. Ugh. Imbeciles.

But when has listening to POP/Classical music ever been associated with gay? People are wondering where he got these views from? Seem like he grew up in a hyper masculine environment.

I wonder why I never thought about sexuality growing up, I was just trying to make friends lol

That was already hard enough, I didn’t have time to add another struggle

Ed is early 30’s? So he was born in the late 80’s, early 90’s? Kinda strange anyone born after the 80’s would feel gay for liking POP music?? Men in the 80’s listened too Madonna, Michael Jackson, Prince.

The 70’s & 80’s where very gender bending, giving rise to Disco, GLAM Rock, Androgyny…Male stars who openly embraced being “effeminate”.

Men literally have been recording POP Music or listening to Classical for decades. So I don’t understand why embracing these things would make him feel gay unless he always felt male POP stars or men into art where gay, lol

Was Pop music the only thing he mentioned? No. Now let’s see how you spin this one tonight…

      • True Tea November 1, 2021

No! I spoke about POP Music because it stood out for me. I see you’re still pressed & struggling too move on, lol

It’s a new day. Stop holding onto wounds & scars I left behind. And feel absolutely unapologetic about.
