Here at That Grape Juice, we love all things R&B! So, fittingly, we’ve teamed up with DJ Ace – one of the UK’s most revered R&B connoisseurs and host of BBC 1Xtra‘s weekly series Everything RNB (which airs Sundays at 10pm).

It’s your boy Ace, here to put you on to some new dope R&B with my very special #SPOTLIGHT3.
This week, I’m doing things a little bit differently. Because all 3 of my picks are by the musical geniuses that are, of course, Silk Sonic – whose new album (‘An Evening with Silk Sonic’) has finally arrived. Let’s get into it!
Silk Sonic – ‘After Last Night (ft. Thundercat & Bootsy Collins)
The whole album ‘An Evening with Silk Sonic’ is a soulful masterpiece, so it’s hard to pick just 3 of my favorite tracks, however, ‘After Last Night’ is most definitely up there. Bruno and Anderson captured the old-school feel perfectly.

Silk Sonic – Fly As Me
Anderson .Paak took the lead on ‘Fly As Me’ and has brought a funkier vibe. This is one of the more uptempo tracks on the project. You can hear the 60s and 70s influence throughout, but you can also tell this will go down as a timeless project.

Silk Sonic – Blast Off
Last but most definitely not least, ‘Blast Off.’ I didn’t think it was possible for a brand new song to evoke such a sense of nostalgia, until now. This was the perfect track to end the album with. I look forward to the possibility of a Silk Sonic tour in 2022!

LISTEN THIS ALBUM IS FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I agree After Last Night & Blast Off are my favorites as well. But it’s hard to choose a favorite. They are all good! Not one SKIPABLE song on here! This is what you call a solid album and real music!
