Self-proclaimed King of R&B Jacquees reigned over Twitter as a trending topic for all the wrong reasons recently after music lovers got a load of his unique take on ‘The Star Spangled Banner.’
Opening up the Los Angeles Lakers vs. Los Angeles Clippers game Friday (December 3), ‘Quees took to the court to show off his vocal prowess with a rendition of the historical tune full of embellishments and vocal acrobatics.
Needless to say, some critics weren’t exactly pleased with his adventurous interpretation. Watch the performance inside and see some responses:

Lol I thought his vocals would be bad but they weren’t bad he just added some umph that’s all.
Twitter be doing too much. While Jacquees is quite a pain in the äss A LOT of the time, it really wasn’t that bad. Complain culture is so fückïng pathetic and annoying really.
He deserves all the smoke
He can sing for sure. Just doesn’t have the range for big songs like this. And too many unnecessary runs
He can sing. Average talent at this stage, but he can definitely sing. I just feel he lacks the musicianship to determine when enough is enough and/or the necessary vocal technique to confidently sustain notes, leading him to rely on the excessive runs as a substitute for sustained belts.
All of this together made for a irritating vocal. Work on that technique my guy and learn to belt.
