It seems the rumors are true.
Just hours after it was reported ‘Blinding Lights’ star The Weeknd was set to feature on a new posthumous release from late R&B darling Aaliyah, the R&B diva’s recordhas taken to social media to confirm.
Details inside:
Blackground Records, Aaliyah’s label home, took to Facebook Tuesday night (December 14) to announce ‘Poison’ – the reported first single from the singer’s first posthumous LP – will hit digital shelves Friday (December 17).
Featuring The Weeknd, the tune is one of many set to board the effort with a big name attached. According to Blackground CEO Barry Hankerson, stars like Drake, Future, Chris Brown, and more are confirmed features for the set (as we reported here).
While there’s no official word on the Aaliyah album’s due date, it’s believed to be imminent as more and more attention is being called to the website Aaliyahiscoming.com
