‘The Way I Are’ hitmaker Timbaland found out the hard way #VERZUZ fans like things just the way they are.
More inside:
As previously reported, the cultural phenomenon – which puts some of Hip Hop & R&B’s most revered acts in hit-for-hit battles to showcase their discographies – has historically been viewable via Instagram, the official VERZUZ website, and later, the Triller app, at no charge to consumers.
On Valentine’s Day, however, fans of the musical battleground were stunned by the announcement they would have to sign up for a paid Triller subscription to enjoy the next sonic duel – the February 15th-scheduled Anthony Hamilton versus Musiq Soulchild showing.
After unceremonious backlash and many taking to Twitter to protest the sudden change, Beatz & Timbaland took to their respective Instagram pages to announce a reversal of the decision.
