Moments ago, the show’s producers Will Packer and Shayla Cowan officially announced Queen Bey’s involvement in the 94th Annual Academy Awards.
Nominated alongside Dixson for Best Original Song for ‘Be Alive’ from the critically acclaimed movie ‘King Richard,’ the 40-year-old megastar will be performing the track live for the first time.
Joining Bey on the bill are the other Original Song nominees: Billie Eilish and Finneas, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Reba McEntire(lyrics by multi-time nominee Diane Warren). Van Morrison was invited to perform his nominated track, but could not make the ceremony due to touring commitments.
The Oscars 2022 air this Sunday, March 27, on ABC at 8pm ET.
