Chopping up with the hosts for over two hours, she offered up an interesting response when Doja Cat‘s name was brought up.

During a game that saw her tasked with picking her favorite rappers, Remy was presented with the option of “Doja Ca or Dreamdoll?”
Immediately, she picked Dreamdoll and went on to say of Doja:
“They be putting her in the rapper category – I don’t think she’s a rapper. But, she makes dope records, and I think she’s dope.”

Missy is a rapper & was clearly Influenced by 80’s Hip-Hop music. Drake is also a rapper & have recorded w/ Jay-Z & Eminem.
Doja Cat doesn’t create Indie R&B, so I definitely wouldn’t consider her an Indie R&B artist like SZA or Khalid.
Doja is a POP artist who play around w/ various genres. I’ve never heard Doja FREESTYLE or Rap over a Traditional Hip-Hop track showcasing her lyrical abilities like other Female MC’s.
So Remy is correct until I see Doja embrace real Traditional Hip-Hop Music. People are simply categorizing her based on racial makeup.

Doja cat is a rapper. Its her pop songs that chars higher than her rap songs. Remy is just jealous. Doja cat can sing ,rap, dance and cover any genre. Remy can’t even rap properly. Her biggest hits are all features that i cant even remember !
