Just two weeks after the two-year anniversary of the release of Giveon‘s breakthrough single, ‘Heartbreak Anniversary,’ the tune’s predecessor – ‘Like I Want You’ – joins it as the GRAMMY-nominated singer’s newest multi-Platinum hit.

On February 28, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) took to press to announce Giveon’s breakthrough single ‘Like I Want You’ – his first Hot 100 charting number as a leading act (#87 peak) – had been led to 2x Platinum status. This amount signifies sales equivalence of 2 million units shifted in the United States alone.
The 2019-released cut is one of three from the rising R&B star to be recognized by the organization recently. 2020’s ‘The Beach’ and 2021’s ‘For Tonight’ were certified Gold for sales of 500,000 respectively in the same territory on the same day.
Those trio of certification upgrades bring the singer’s career total to 7 songs listed at the RIAA and follow ‘Heartbreak Anniversary’ (3x Platinum), ‘Still Your Best’ (Gold), ‘Favorite Mistake’ (Gold), and ‘Stuck On You’ (Gold).
