SZA had quite the night at the 2022 GRAMMYs after nabbing her first award.
Arriving on the heels of 11 prior nominations, the singer’s trophy was for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance alongside Doja Cat for their collaboration ‘Kiss Me More.’
Easily one of the biggest releases of last year, the inescapable nature of the bop had some wondering why the pair didn’t take to the stage to perform on Music’s Biggest Night.
SZA’s response ignited further chatter and now she’s weighing in again to clear up what she says is confusion.

Shortly after the ceremony, ‘The Weekend’ wailer addressed fans asking why she didn’t perform by saying:
“Y’all do realize the Grammys NEVER EVEN ASKED ME TO PERFORM RIGHT? Lmao .. jus strange”
Her words went viral and saw supporters bemoan what they interpreted as an omission. However, SZA is saying not so so fast.
Clarifying her comments, the soulful songbird tweeted:
“This wasn’t a complaint! It was a response to the false narrative I backed out of performing! 😩😂i ain’t even got no album out!”
In other SZA news, she revealed that her long-awaited sophomore LP is complete. We’re all sorts of ready for its release.
