Predictions Are In [Billboard 200]: Bad Bunny To Beat Jack Harlow to #1 With the Year’s BIGGEST First-Week Sales

Published: Sunday 8th May 2022 by Rashad

If industry analysts are to be believed, Bad Bunny is bound to bounce straight to the top of next week’s Billboard 200 thanks to the warm reception of his fourth studio album, the May 6-released ‘Un Verano Sin Ti.’

Despite stiff competition coming from the likes of Jack Harlow‘s ‘Come Home the Kids Miss You’ (which famously features the Hot 100 #1 hit ‘First Class’) and a class of other big names, Bunny is not only set for the biggest first-week figures of his career to date but also and the most impressive inaugural numbers of any album released this year so far.

Details inside:

Bad Bunny’s ‘Un Verano Sin Ti’

Predicted First-Week Sales (SPS):  235,000-260,000 units

Predicted Billboard 200 Debut:  #1

Bad’s off to a good start, to say the least, as evidenced by news that he broke the first-day global streaming record at Spotify with more than 180 million spins of his latest project.  It’s forecasted that by the end of the set’s first sales tracking week in the U.S., total streams could easily surpass 300 million.

Forecasted to move up to 260,000 units in said timeframe, if the prediction comes true it will surpass the numbers attached to Future‘s ‘I Never Liked You’ as the year’s biggest opener.

Jack Harlow’s ‘Come Home the Kids Miss You’

Predicted First-Week Sales (SPS):  110,000-135,000 units

Predicted Billboard 200 Debut:  #2

Set for runner-up is Jack Harlow’s sophomore studio album, ‘Come Home the Kids Miss You.’

Also released on May 6, the project features the previously mentioned ‘First Class’ (the first Hip Hop song to top the Hot 100 in 2022) as well as the top 20 hit ‘Nail Tech.’

If the predicted sales listed above ring true, Harlow – like Bunny – will hop his highest first-week sales to date.  His previous best, 51,000 units, accompanied his debut album ‘That’s What They All Say’ to a #5 debut on the Billboard 200 in 2020.

What the hell are these predictions? I doubt Jack Harlow is outselling Doja Cat OR Lil Nas X first week. Planet Her sold 109K first week, and MONTERO did 125K first week. His fanbase is nowhere near as big as the fore mentioned.
