Despite being sentenced to 30 years in prison in June for sex trafficking and racketeering crimes as well as bracing for another trial for similar crimes (as we reported here), R. Kelly defenders continue to maintain his innocence – some even pointing fingers at the reported victims.
The embattled singer is answering to reports he sexually abusing women, girls and boys for decades, but his sisters – Cassandra, Lisa, and Theresa – are making headlines for suggesting otherwise.

As seen in the video above, the Kelly sisters took to U.K. TV show ‘Good Morning Britain’ Wednesday (July 27) to speak out about the treatment of their GRAMMY-winning brother at the hands of the U.S. legal system. They reiterated his belief that his 30-year sentence was due to racism.
“African Americans have always been treated unfairly. And so I think that has a lot to do with [R. Kelly’s sentence], as well as other factors,” Cassandra shared.
When quizzed about their thoughts on the singer’s innocence, Lisa didn’t hesitate to shift the blame to the reported victims.
“I can say he may have been with younger women, but as far as underage girls, no—and I stress underage girls. Who has seen that? I believe a lot of the alleged victims are bitter,” she said.
Lisa later continued by saying the true victim is her brother.
“He is not a monster, he is not a pedophile,” Lisa said. “The only victim I’ve seen that’s been stolen from, lied on, is Robert.”
