According to TMZ, the ‘WAP’ hitmaker has agreed to a plea deal that will see her avoid trial over the 2018 incident.
As reported, the femcee was accused of commissioning an attack on strip club bartenders Jade and Baddie Gi. The alleged reason? Cardi was said to have believed the former slept with her husband, Migos star Offset.
In a last-minute pivot (the trial was due to begin next Monday), a plea deal was reached.
The terms see Cardi plead guilty to 3rd-degree assault and reckless endangerment (misdemeanors). As a result, she’s been handed 15 days of community service and has been ordered to stay away from the women for three years.
Speaking in a statement after the hearing, Cardi said:
“Part of growing up and maturing is being accountable for your actions. As a mother, it’s a practice that I am trying to instill in my children, but the example starts with me. I’ve made some bad decisions in my past that I am not afraid to face and own up to.
These moments don’t define me and they are not reflective of who I am now. I’m looking forward to moving past this situation with my family and friends and getting back to the things I love the most — music and my fans.”
