25 years after Mariah Carey first topped the Billboard 200 with her fifth traditional studio album, 1997’s ‘Butterfly,’ the timeless turning point project – which has become a symbol synonymous with the music icon – is being reissued via an expanded edition.
Announced earlier this week (as reported here), Carey unveiled news of the anniversary offering by referring to the original opus as her “favorite” and “most personal album” yet.
Boasting eight new bonus tracks from the era, the 20-song set’s arrival is also accompanied by 4K versions of music videos for housed singles ‘The Roof’ and lead single ‘Honey.’ What’s more, the latter tune also has a ‘making of’ documentary attached to its upgrade.
As if that’s not enough, new ‘Butterfly’ merchandise is available alongside updated vinyl and cassette-tape versions of the repackaged LP.
Ahead of other surprises that are said to be on the way, look inside to stream ‘Butterfly 25’ courtesy of Spotify and Apple Music.
Breakdown should’ve been a #1 record
I knew better; those bonus tracks are nothing to be excited about. There have got be some unreleased songs that didn’t make the album. Such a shame this anniversary. I was hoping to have reason to buy the album again.
also wanted some really unreleased songs
That 25th anniversary edition is a joke. Just to make more coins. That’s really everything she had to offer as bonus tracks ?!…
B I t c h, ain’t nobody forcing you to buy💅🏾 Like you can afford to buy it anyways
Wow! Fap-tastic
I hope she’s going to perform Butterfly soon
Diva is singing for you “spread yo legs, p u s s y full of flies, For you have become a boss b I t c h fly” 🎶
we love a skinny legend! <3
The best, most elegant R&B album of the last 25 years. Her lyrics for this album are what got her inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame!!
Often imitated, never duplicated 💅💅💅💅
