In the wake of the shooting death of his friend and ‘Too Many Years’ collaborator PNB Rock, rapper Kodak Black has been atop many related headlines – from posting a “chicken and waffles” tribute many found insensitive to slamming the late emcee’s girlfriend, Stephanie Sibounheuang, for what he believed was her role in the 30-year-old’s untimely passing.
Joining a chorus of many at the time who thought her geo-tagged Instagram post is what alerted Rock’s would-be killers to locate him, Black took to social media to suggest the young woman “kill herself” as a result.
After police reports later revealed the men suspected of the crime were already at the Roscoe’s House of Chicken ‘N Waffles restaurant when PNB (born Rakim Hasheem Allen) arrived, Kodak took accountability for his harsh words and issued an apology.

Taking to Instagram Live recently (as seen in the video above), Black backtracked his controversial statement to Stephanie.
“I was angry at that moment when I first heard it ’cause I had just woke up,” he said before pointing to the Internet as the source of his misinformation. “I just went with what everybody was saying like, ‘Oh man, she posted the address.’”
He ultimately concluded that wasn’t the best thing to do and issued an apology.
“At that moment, it was sounding like she did some [explicit],” he said. “So shit, you know, kill yourself. Other than that, I don’t wish no bad on her. I give my apologies to her. I hope she keeping her head up and all that.”
The statement came after his fellow emcee, Cardi B, not only defended Sibounheuang at the time of the incident but doubled down after the police update.
