The Pop Stop: Ellie Goulding, Joel Corry, & More Deliver This Week’s Hidden Gems

Published: Friday 21st Oct 2022 by Ryan

Readers of That Grape Juice know how passionate we are about music – whether that be past or present.

However, unlike our other segments – Retro Rewind, TGJ Replay, and From The Vault – The Pop Stop is the most in-depth look at Pop songs that may have flown under the radar over the last week that you should know, rather they be from music’s biggest stars or those on the rise.

This week, we want to highlight cuts from Ellie Goulding, Joel Corry, Nightly, and Billy Lockett.

Join us inside…

Ellie Goulding – Let It Die

Having just announced that her new album ‘Higher Than Heaven’ is set to arrive on February 3, 2023, Ellie Goulding has just shared another taste of what can be expected from the project. Entitled ‘Let It Die,’ the song is a burst of blisteringly anthemic pop music about the end of a relationship. Truly a must-hear track, ‘Let It Die’ is one to not miss.

Joel Corry – Lionheart (Fearless)

Having recently scored his seventh UK Top 20 single with his Becky Hill collaboration ‘History,’ and on a US tour that goes until November 26, hitmaker Joel Corry has now teamed up with singer Tom Grennan for the song ‘Lionheart (Fearless).’ Enthusiastic synths and handclaps guide the song as Grennan delivers passionate vocals. A bona fide hit from start to finish, Corry will likely continue his global domination with ‘Lionheart.’

Nightly – Dirty White Chucks

Rising pop band Nightly are back with their latest single, ‘Dirty White Chucks.’ Anchored by pounding drums, handclaps, and suave guitar licks, the group delivers one of their slickest and catchiest songs to date.

Billy Lockett – Last Thing On Your Mind

Rising singer-songwriter Billy Lockett has a new album called ‘Abington Grove’ dropping on February 17 and to further promote the project, he has shared the song ‘Last Thing On Your Mind.’ A contemplative ballad, the song is complete with accents of soft piano and introspective lyrics. Proving his mastery over creating an emotional song, Lockett has delivered his strongest showing to date.
