Michael Jackson‘s ‘Thriller,’ the biggest-selling album of all time, has added major numbers to its total tally this week following the release of a special 40th-anniversary re-release.

Following the arrival of its re-issue, the King of Pop’s mega-selling LP rockets 108 spots to #7 on this week’s edition of the Billboard 200.
Up 283% in sales, the game-changing project – home to the likes of ‘Billie Jean,’ ‘Beat It,’ and its blazing title track – sold 37,000 in the current tracking week.
Of the sum, 27,500 units were accrued by way of traditional sales. 13.17 million on-demand streams of the album’s songs added another 9,000 to the tally.
‘Thriller’ is 34x Platinum in the United States (recognizing official sales north of 34 million) and has sold over 70 million copies worldwide.
