Ashanti is kept it all the way candid on The Breakfast Club today (December 2).
Chopping it up with Charlamagne Tha God, DJ Envy, and Angela Yee, the GRAMMY winner dished on a whole host of topics.
Indeed, she updated on the status of the re-recording of her debut album and revealed that a truth-baring documentary is incoming.
When speaking about the latter and the support she’s receiving from women in the wake of the drama drummed up by IrvGotti in his doc, the R&B songbird shared a jaw-dropping story about her experience with a producer.

Reflecting on the occurrence, Ashanti said:
“I’ve been in a crazy situation with one producer. We did two records together. He was like ‘I’m not gonna charge you, you my homie, whatever whatever.’ And when it came time to put [the song] on the album, he was like ‘let’s take a shower together.’ I thought he was joking. But he was like ‘nah, I’m dead serious. Let’s go out, let’s take a shower together. If not, I need 40 racks per record.’ Again, I thought he was joking because we had been working together for a couple of weeks. It turns out that he was serious and I had to make some phone calls and stuff was handled.”
