Jerrod Carmichael‘s stint as host of the 2023 Golden Globes ruffled features in earnest.
For, while some found humor in the comic’s edgy material as master of the returning ceremony, others weren’t as impressed.

As reported, during a monologue on the broadcast, Carmichael quipped:
“So, we are here, live, from the hotel that killed Whitney Houston, the Beverly Hilton.”
The remark sparked fury online, with fans and even fellow celebs (such as Naturi Naughton) slamming Carmichael for the comment.
A rep for Houston’s Estate told TMZ:
“The Whitney Houston Estate is disappointed in the joke, and felt it was in poor taste.”
