TMZ reports that the rapper was jumped by a group of men at an LA Fitness.
The sudden assault left the security-free chart-topper rattled and despite his best efforts to fight them off, he succumbed to the sum of those pummelling him.
Staff at the gym noticed the chaos and called the police and an ambulance, who rushed 6ix9ine to the hospital.
