Stream: Chloe Bailey’s Debut Solo Album ‘In Pieces’

Published: Thursday 30th Mar 2023 by Rashad

Since late 2021 with the arrival of her Platinum-selling debut solo single, ‘Have Mercy,’ singer-songwriter Chloe Bailey has had fans saying just that as she blazes a path up Billboard charts without the help of her sister, Halle Bailey (as part of the sister act ChloexHalle).

And while ‘Mercy’ counts itself among a string of introductory tunes that didn’t make the final cut for Chloe’s debut solo album, ‘In Pieces,’ those scrapped cuts certainly set the pace for it.

On the wings of warmly-received songs ‘Body Do,’ ‘How Does It Feel,’ ‘Pray It Away,’ and its title cut, March 31 brings with it the GRAMMY nominee’s long-awaited inaugural body of work courtesy of Beyoncé’s Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records.

Hop inside to stream the 14-track set which features appearances from Future, Chris Brown, Missy Elliott, and more.

    no

As far as debut albums go for pop/r&b girls its a solid debut, just not radio friendly. “Body Do” and “Make It Look Easy” have the most chart potential.

“Fallin 4 U” should be extended, that has a very interesting sound and could have been a highlight.

Pray it away is still the best sound. I don’t mind and make it look easy have potential
Especially if her performances were on point

    Trash the rest

Special shout out to I Don’t Mind, it sneaks up on me.

She thought she’d be this generations Beyoncé, but she’s going to end up being this generations Ciara…without the hits from the first two albums 🥴

Biggest disappointment of recent years. I just don’t I understand how her team allowed this to happen. What the actual f***

    • Credits March 31, 2023

With Her singles, her visuals, and her album cover, I’m guessing Chloe herself has a lot of creative control which is why a lot of people ask “how could her team…?”

      • RBRT March 31, 2023

You know what, I agree. She must have a team though. Maybe they’re just agreeing with her. I said this before but she needs a “Matthew Knowles” to get her going. Where is Beyoncé telling her what to do?? Can’t Beyoncé see whatever Chloe release with Parkwood is a reflection of her record label.

hey Ciara was successfully at first! she better hope she can do what Ciara did on her 1st 2 albums.

The album is dope as a whole. I like it I think it’s different and clearly she producing and being experimental with her sound.

Mercy and Treat Me were so much better. Now its just another mediocre Rnb Album, that we‘be heard a Million times

    • Fleur March 31, 2023

I still play Have Mercy and Treat Me on a regular, so I hope that she continues to add them to her future live sets.

  7. Credits March 31, 2023

There’s some solid mid tempos on this album.

Chloe is this generation’s Chloe. Told Ya is a banger. Feel me cry is a rnb hit in waiting. In pieces is the cross genre global hit ballad if synced to the right campaign. This album is solid!

First, I’m proud of Chlöe’s executive production of her first solo album In Piece because it’s solid and well done. Young lady, you do Make It Look Easy 🎶 . Enjoy all the songs, and my current favorite is Cheat Back. Love the solo live performance on Jimmy Kimmel. I’m also glad that Chloë gave us a the lovely ballad In Pieces in a beautiful vision of red. Yaaasss for Looze U and the Body Do visualizer.

This album slaps!! She raps, she sings, she plays piano and she’s HERSELF!! She knows her sound!! EVERYTHING is based on what she wants, she has free and total control!! This album is a solid 9/10 , there is NO bad song, the songs transistion PERFECTLY, the vocals, the features, the EVERYTHING!

    • Clarks0o00ñ March 31, 2023

This is a bad album and it’s not gonna crack the top 10.

I dont think this is the album chloe wanted to release, I think her label forced her to make this type of album.

      • Janice March 31, 2023

Chloe had to release this album. All eyes are about to be on Halle👀

LOL SHELL BE LUCKY IF SHE SELLS 1K LMAOOOO

  13. Gator March 31, 2023

These sales are about to be horrendous. And don’t come in here pretending that sales don’t matter. For a new artist like Chloe they CERTAINLY do. Especially one who’s gotten as many opportunities as she has. As a newbie, she has a lot to prove. Good luck to her. I already know the album sounds like a bunch of noise.

  14. marilyn monH🪩E ® 👠(#1 DIVA) March 31, 2023

An album! Normani will never had💅🏾 Diva doesn’t care if the album tanked, at least her label willingly investing her.

  15. Thabiso March 31, 2023

    Go win

  16. Carlos Edwards April 1, 2023

The album is a great for a new artist. Not bad. And she’s only beginning. Her vocals are amazing as well as her control. She sings, dance, writes, produce and act. Who else is doing that??? She’s gonna be around for a long time so haters get use to it.

  17. Haterz Gon’ Hate April 1, 2023

Body Do, How Does It Feel, Feel Me Cry. The rest is an absolute SNOOZE 🛌😴

It’s weird after the high octane Treat Me and Have Mercy that she’s gone off in a mid-tempo lane – the album is not a body of work, it’s some tracks on an album.

Chloe is unfortunately of the “TikTok” generation who believe they can do everything themselves – if Chloe was paying attention to the greats she would have seen that even Beyoncé got the heavy hitter producers and writers in for her first albums BEFORE taking more creative control.

Producing and Writing almost ALL tracks is great for your creative juices and EGO but NOTHING on this album screams (or even whispers) HIT.

I think she’ll do 25k-35K SPS first week because the masses have no idea who she is and writing and producing all her stuff is gonna ensure it stays that way. 🤷🏾‍♂️
