Watch: Ed Sheeran Rocks New York’s Historic Kings Theatre with Acoustic Rendition of ‘Eyes Closed’

With the May 5 release date of Ed Sheeran‘s forthcoming fifth studio album, ‘Subtract,’ looming, the GRAMMY-winning music superstar is pressing some serious gas on its promotion.

As the set’s lead single, ‘Eyes Closed,’ is off to a modest start on the Hot 100 (dropping to #39 on this week’s chart after premiering at #24 last week), Sheeran is undoubtedly hoping to get more eyes on the Aaron Dessner-produced tune.

The latest endeavor in that stead comes courtesy of the reveal of an acoustic version performed live at New York’s historic Kings Theatre as part of a sold-out, intimate show that saw him not only perform multiple cuts from the ‘Subtract’ album but also croon fan favorites like ‘Perfect,’ ‘Bad Habits,’ and more on Monday (April 10).

See the action inside.

The acoustic version seen above comes just weeks after Ed gave his beloved fans, affectionately called #Sheerios,’ a peek at a piano-based version of ‘Eyes.’
