Multi-hyphenate star KeKe Palmer adds yet another critically acclaimed offering to her brigade of discography with the new album ‘Big Boss.’
A fitting ode to self for the 29-year-old who has also conquered movies, television, and is set to launch her own network (KeyTV), the 29-minute project features contributions from legendary producer Tricky Stewart as well as Lxrd Rossi and more.
Further, the musical opus was accompanied by a biographical short film (also titled ‘Big Boss’) KeKe directed herself that features an intimate look at her life through home videos and re-enacting key moments of her story (i.e. overcoming misogyny in Hollywood, etc.).
“We all have these narratives that we tell ourselves. My first record deal was at 12 years old, with Atlantic Records [telling] me that I was always going to have a hard time in music and that no one would allow me to be me. So every situation kind of mirrored that. The situations I even put myself in and the movie are about me overcoming that narrative and understanding that I’m always enough,” said Keke about the film that stars Kyle Massey, Robert Ri’chard, and others.
