Kylie Minogue has done it.
The legendary Pop diva has been lighting up the dancefloor and airwaves alike with her new single ‘Padam Padam’ – and has now made history with the infectious cut.
Full story below…
On this week’s edition of the Official UK Singles Chart, ‘Padam Padam’ climbs two spots to a new peak of #9 on the coveted count.
In the process it becomes Minogue’s first UK top 10 single in 12 years. Prior to now, her last was 2011 Taio Cruz and Travie McCoy collaboration ‘Higher’ (which peaked at #8).
‘Padam Padam’s performance is rendered even more impressive when factoring in that it’s the icon’s first solo song to achieve a top 10 placement since 2010’s ‘All The Lovers’ (#3).
Minogue is now tied with Diana Ross, Cher, and Lulu as one of only four female solo artists to have scored UK top 10 singles across five consecutive decades.
‘Padam Padam’ serves as the lead single from Minogue’s 16th studio album, ‘Tension’ (due September 22 via BMG).
Congrats!
