Katy Perry perked the ears of her beloved #KatyCats in April when she teased that she was ‘due for a tour‘ to interact with fans who couldn’t make it to Las Vegas to see her top-selling ‘Play‘ residency.
Doubling down on the notion during a recent chat with ‘People,’ the GRAMMY nominee made clear that she’s never stopped plotting a global jaunt despite not having hit the international tour circuit in over 5 years.
“When I do put out [new] music in a big way, then I want to go around the world and do a big world tour and stuff like that,” Perry shared with the mag in June. “I’m excited for the next interval of music, and I think that that music, obviously, is coming from a really loving space.”
Katy lovers hoping for an official announcement about the follow-up to 2020’s ‘Smile‘ album will have to keep that prayer on pause if new ‘American Idol‘ reports are to be believed, however.

Taking to Twitter on Tuesday (July 25), the official ‘American Idol’ account confirmed all three resident judges – Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie – will return to the role for the seventh season of the competition’s ABC iteration.
Set to air in Spring 2024, longtime host Ryan Seacrest is also slated to return to help discover America’s next big singing sensation.

Got nothing against her, but let’s keep it a buck: she making way more from the AI gig than she would from touring right now.
Hasn’t had a real hit in the last two-three albums, won’t sell out arenas. (except maybe one night in NYC)
And going to theaters, (other than Vegas) would be seen as going out sad. Plus still has young child at home. She’s much better off sticking with AI.
