Spotify Reportedly in Talks to Test Full-Length Music Videos

As the streaming market leader, Spotify has already changed the face of the music industry in a major way.

And, per a new report, the platform may be set to do so again.

According to Bloomberg, the streamer is “in talks” to test full-length music videos within its app.

The move would see Spotify make a direct beeline for the market share of visual-led platforms such as YouTube.

With streaming serving as the primary means of music consumption in the modern climate, Spotify – with its userbase of over 500 million – venturing into full-length video could be a game-changer.

The service has already been steadily incorporating video into its technology offering – by way of looped clips that play alongside songs and newly-launched TikTok-esque short-form clips designed to amplify artist storytelling.

As of writing, Spotify has yet to remark on the matter.
