Iggy Azalea Attempts to Clarify Tory Lanez “Support” Letter: “I Was Told This Was for a Judge Only”

Published: Tuesday 8th Aug 2023 by Sam

Iggy Azalea trended for all the wrong reasons after it was revealed the femcee had written a letter of “support” for Tory Lanez to the judge deciding his fate.

The Canadian performer is currently awaiting sentencing after being convicted of shooting Megan Thee Stallion.

With Lanez’s legal team assembling a mountain of support declarations from friends, colleagues, and charities, it emerged that Azalea was one of them. She pleaded with Judge Herriford to hand down a sentence that was “transformative, not life destroying.”

The blowback from social media was swift and scathing.

Now, Azalea has issued a response.

Full story below…

Via Twitter (X), she wrote:

“For the record:

1. I have not been in touch with tory for months, I have no reason to be, but I do wish him well.

2. I don’t “support” anyone. the whole thing is full of oddities. My letter never mentioned anything in regard to what happened that night.

3. I was told this was for a judge only, yet it’s being discussed in public? I never intended to publicly comment.

4. l am not in support of throwing away ANY ones life if we can give reasonable punishments that are rehabilitative instead. I support prison reform. Period.

5. I was asked to write about my genuine experience and the type of punishment I think he deserves: I did. It’s not really that interesting but I understand why it’s being sensationalized…

See ya next week to discuss pizza toppings I suppose. Lol”

With that, what are…

So basically you were being sneaky thinking we wouldn’t see you advocating for Tory??? Got it 🤣🤣

Ppl are so ridiculous. Tory deserves time but he doesn’t deserve 22 years or anything super excessive. I can’t put an exact number on it but double digit years I feel like is excessive. I don’t think he intended to hurt anyone that night and they were all drunk and committing assault including Meg. He made a mistake and he should pay for it but it’s ppl who do far worse malicious things and get less time than he’s facing. Derek Chauvin got 22 years for a knee on someone’s neck for 9 minutes this is not the same.

Quit with the whataboutisms. Torey is a violent little f*****. People get drunk everyday but do they SHOOT people? Bullets KILL. That night coulda gone another way. He deserves whatever the judge throws at him idgaf.

If he was white he would be facing 2-3 years maximum. People with a Brain know blk men get excessive sentences much longer than their white counterparts. I can help that u too are a rac.ist so go off sis.

Idc if he’s white, black or blue! He coulda killed a BLACK WOMAN! Throw the book at him. Just say you’re a Torey supporter and go.

When it was your turn being roasted by the media you wasn’t acting this gullible! For her to say ‘that night was full of oddities’ then try to pretend she’s ‘neutral’ or not supporting anyone – BYE IGGY

PLUS if you do support prison reform in a serious way you wouldn’t let your discourse be swayed to defend violence against women. A super clown move 🤡
