Early predictions for the first-week performance of Drake‘s latest single, ‘Slime You Out,’ have proven to be right on the money.
The SZA-assisted jam, which acts as the latest taste of new music set to line the rapper’s October 6-due new album ‘For All The Dogs,’ is proving its bite is as big as its bark thanks to a handsome out-of-the-box commercial showing.

Billboard reports the BNYX-produced cut opened at #1 on the refreshed Hot 100 (revealed September 25). Here are the numbers that powered the placement.
- Streaming: 32.6 million U.S.-based streams
- Digital Downloads: 2,000 sold
- Radio Airplay: 5.2 million audience impressions
The win comes as a record-extending feat for Drizzy, who is already the tally’s most decorated act to date.
In addition to being his 12th #1 hit overall (the most of any rapper), the opening marks his 8th #1 debut – more than any other act in the chart’s 65-year history. Surpassing the longstanding personal #1s records of music royals Janet Jackson (10) and Whitney Houston (11) in the process, the 36-year-old now ties Queen of Pop Madonna on the all-time list of “most #1 hits ever.”
His 299th Hot 100 appearance (the most of any act), ‘Slime You Out’ also extends his reign as the performer with the most top 10 entries (70). For context, his closest competitor is Taylor Swift with 42 top 10 hits.
The chart triumph doesn’t stop with him, however.
Coming as the 9th top 10 hit of SZA’s career, ‘Slime You Out’ bowing in the hitlist’s pole position also makes her the first act this year to net 2 chart-toppers. Her first came in April courtesy of ‘Kill Bill,‘ which also marked her first time topping the Hot 100 overall.
